Message from David Eyre-Brook – Chairman of Phyllis Tuckwell

This last year has, of course, been a very difficult year for all of us, including everyone at Phyllis Tuckwell.

Our staff have had to deal directly with Coronavirus, and the physical and emotional strain that it has brought with it. Our volunteers have supported us throughout, and those who have been unable to come to the Hospice, Beacon Centre or our shops, because of Covid restrictions and risks, have helped us in other ways. And our Income Generation team have had to find creative ways to remain in touch with our loyal supporters, when lockdown forced us to postpone or cancel many of our planned events and close our shops.

We simply could not do what we do without the generous support of our local community, so we thank you most sincerely for your donations and support over the past year. And here we are at the start of a New Year, looking ahead for the next 12 months. It is not all doom and gloom. It may be a different world, but rest assured, we are determined to continue to offer the same care to those in our local community who need us, at probably the worst times in their lives, bringing compassion, comfort, hope, and yes, joy and smiles.
