We support patients throughout their illness, and our In-Patient Unit (IPU) provides 24-hour care for those who need symptom management or end of life care. The new IPU is spacious, peaceful and well-equipped, with an ensuite and reclining chair in every room, so relatives can stay with their loved one overnight if they wish. Each room has double doors which open out onto a beautiful, private courtyard garden area, giving patients and families direct access to being in and around the calming presence of nature.
“It’s lovely,” said Fred, one of our in-patients. “I’m comfortable, I’m warm. The nurses are first class. They’re very gentle.”
“The rooms are beautiful,” agreed his wife, Sue. “You couldn’t wish for anything better. It’s really lovely here. It’s calming. The gardens are lovely, just to go and sit in and gather your thoughts. When those doors are open, it’s lovely to feel the breeze and get the sunshine. And they can’t do enough for you. They take really good care of Fred. Nothing’s too much trouble.
You couldn’t wish for anything better. It’s a first-class Hospice and it’s first-class treatment.”
