Phyllis Tuckwell’s Listening Lounge sessions provide a welcoming, informal space to combat the loneliness of bereavement.
Here, bereaved people can meet and talk to others who truly understand how they feel, because they themselves are in a similar situation. They can share their experiences, memories and challenges related to their loss. The sessions are facilitated by our patient and family advisors, who can provide support and guidance on a range of matters, and signpost people on to other services that may help further.
The last hour of each session is dedicated to a specific topic, ranging from practical skills to self-care, to help people build confidence as they adjust to their new circumstances.
Sessions are held on the second Monday of every month, from 1.30-3.30pm, at the Beacon Centre in Guildford. Spaces are limited to 12 people per session, so if you would like to attend, please call 01252 729440 or email pafs@pth.org.uk to book your place.
