Hospice Plant Sales Restart In National Gardening Week

Monday 26^th April – Sunday 2^nd May is National Gardening Week, and what better way to join in with this celebration of nature than by picking up some plants at the first of this year’s Phyllis Tuckwell plant sales?

On Sunday 2^nd May, Phyllis Tuckwell will be re-starting its monthly plant sales at the Hospice for the first time since the pandemic began, and there will be plenty to choose from! These popular plant sales always include a wide variety of plants at low prices – just the thing to brighten up your garden this spring, and ideal if you’re looking forward to spending a bit more time outside, digging, weeding and planting, after the long winter months indoors.

“We are delighted to be able to start up our monthly plant sales again,” said Ruth Masters, Community and Events Fundraising Manager at Phyllis Tuckwell. “We will be holding them on the first Sunday of every month, from May to October, and are looking forward to welcoming people along. They will be held outside as usual, and to help with Covid safety we will ensure social distancing is adhered to and encourage everyone who comes along to wear a facemask.”

The first plant sale of 2021 will be held on Sunday 2^nd May, from 10am-1pm, at the Hospice in Farnham. All of the money raised will go directly to help fund the supportive and end of life care which Phyllis Tuckwell provides for local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. Phyllis Tuckwell’s volunteers will also be on hand at the sales and can offer general advice.

During the pandemic Phyllis Tuckwell had to cancel its plant sales and most of its fundraising events and activities, losing a great deal of income which would have gone towards funding its care. Now that it is able to start holding events again the money raised is more important than ever, so please do come along and support local Hospice Care, at the same time as picking up some beautiful plants for your garden.
