It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Thanks to some wonderful supporters and some excellent decorating skills from our hospice-based teams, both Christopher’s and Shooting Star House are looking suitably festive for families and staff to enjoy.

The tremendous trees have been kindly donated by super supporters Paul Strank and Hans Anderson and they’ve been lovingly decorated by supported children and staff.

At Christopher’s the decorations have gone to a whole new level, as teams compete ‘fir’ the coveted title of winners of the Christmas Tree decorating competition.

This year teams have transformed their spruces with a wide range of inspired themes. Our SPACE and Community Nursing Team have used Lego in all forms to decorate their tree.

Our Family Support Team have adorned their tree with all the colours of the rainbow, whilst our receptionist team have gone with a silver and black themed tree complete with top hat!

The in-house care teams have created two terrific trees, one inspired by all things Disney complete with a Minion and Mike from Monsters Inc, and an ocean theme with a jellyfish topper, inspired by a cause close to one of our supported young adults’ hearts.

Last, but no means least, is our Maintenance, Kitchen and House Keeping tree, sticking very close to what they know their tree has pasta ‘tinsel’, food and tools ornaments and even a mop!

Huge well done to everyone involved – we’re glad we’re not the ones having to choose the winners!

At Shooting Star House, the Arts and Crafts room has been transformed into a Santa’s Grotto by creative corporate supporter Natural Baby Shower. Not only did they buy and provide all the decorations they spent the day ensuring they created the perfect magical place for families to meet Santa as he visits the hospice in the days before Christmas. Here’s a sneak peak (we don’t want to spoil the surprise for the families!)
