Phillip Schofield’s Annual Clay Pigeon Shoot
17 September 2019
A wealth of celebrities including Dragon’s Den Peter Jones CBE, Declan Donnelly and Jonathan Wilkes came together to support our Patron Phillip Schofield as he hosted the annual Clay Pigeon Shoot at the exclusive Royal Berkshire Shooting School, raising £137,000 for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices and the Peter Jones Foundation.
Phillip Schofield, who has been a patron of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices for over 16 years, hosted the event with his wife Stephanie, welcoming guests to the Royal Berkshire Shooting School, one of the UK’s premier shooting schools.
The Clay Shoot saw plenty of healthy competition and no lack of good-humoured rivalry between the teams, many of whom were friends of the hosts.
After having a blast at the morning shooting session, guests were treated to a three course lunch, where they heard from Karen Sugarman, Executive Vice President of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices and the charity’s Patron, Phillip Schofield, about the impact of our work.
Jonny Gould returned as the auctioneer and encouraged the guests to bid generously in the afternoon’s live auction, which included a variety of one-of-a-kind luxury items and experiences.
Auction highlights included seven-night celebration week stay on Necker Island for two people, a one-of-a-kind painting of a lion, painted live, by artist Katy Jade Dobson, seven-night Alaska cruise onboard Royal Princess for two people and an exclusive ‘This Morning’ visit with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
Phillip Schofield, Patron of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices said, “We have raised an astonishing amount of funds today and are absolutely thrilled. For over sixteen years, I have been privileged to watch the charity grow from one hospice, to what it is today and am immensely proud to say that the Shooting Star Children’s Hospices are delightful, happy and positive places that make life for those in the most desperate of circumstances, just a little bit easier. The charity does an utterly incredible job and I am immensely proud to be involved.”
