Phyllis Tuckwell’s Last Plant Sale in Old Hospice Building

Come along to Phyllis Tuckwell’s last monthly plant sale of 2023, on Sunday 6th August, and grab yourself some bargains for the garden!

This plant sale will be the last that Phyllis Tuckwell holds at its old Hospice. It has already started moving its services to alternative temporary locations in preparation for the demolition of the building, which is scheduled to take place at the end of the year. Building work will commence in January 2024, with the charity aiming to move into the new Hospice by January 2026.

All of the plants on sale will be offered on a buy-one-get-one-free basis, so do come along to browse through the hundreds that will be there and make the most of this super offer!

The sale will be held at the Hospice on Sunday 6th August, from 10am to 1pm, and all of the money raised will go directly towards helping Phyllis Tuckwell provide its vital hospice care to local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. Every day it supports over 250 patients, relatives and carers, but as the NHS/Government usually only covers about 20% of its costs, it has to raise over £25,000 a day to do this.

“Our August plant sale will be the last held at our old Hospice building, so will be a bit special for many of us who have really enjoyed them over the years,” said Ruth Masters, Head of Community, Corporate and Events Fundraising at Phyllis Tuckwell. “Our wonderful volunteers, who have helped at so many of these sales, will once again be on hand, and we thank them so much for all the support they have so generously given. We really hope that you can come along to pick up some of these really lovely plants and take part in our last sale of 2023 – it would be very special to see you there.”
