Festive Phyllis Tuckwell supporter Gavin Blunden popped by the Hospice last week, bringing bags full of presents for staff to give to their patients.

Gavin organised, collected and delivered the gifts himself, dressing up as Santa and bringing a smile to the faces of the staff at the Hospice!

“I wanted to do this for Phyllis Tuckwell as it’s been a tough year for everyone. I just wanted to make a few people smile and be happy for a short time, and give something back to the community,” said Gavin. “I would like to thank Osbourne Building Contractors and Developers for making this possible, and all the subcontractors at work for donating to the cause: Innovarie, Working Environments, Mitie, Topfix, Apic, Southern Brickwork, Harringtons Groundworks. Thanks also to Tescos in Aldershot, K S Mechanical, and friends who have supported me in doing this. Merry Christmas to each and all!”

“We’d like to thank Gavin very much for these gifts,” said Rachel Copes, Living Well Sister at Phyllis Tuckwell. “It’s so generous of him, and our patients will be delighted to receive a gift from us at this special time of year. Christmas can be very difficult for some people, especially if they are living with a terminal or advanced illness.  Small gestures like this can make a big difference to local families, so we really appreciate Gavin’s thoughtful support.”
