Stars hit the phones with brokers for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices Vice-President’s Simon Cowell, Tony Hadley MBE and Leigh Francis, aka Keith Lemon, joined the London trading floor at the annual ICAP Charity Day, where brokers donate 100% of their revenues and commissions from deals to charities, including Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
The special day held at ICAP’s offices in Bishopgate and Victoria on Wednesday 7th December welcomed the charities Vice-President’s, Ambassadors and Patrons to help close deals with clients, both on the telephone and through ICAP’s electronic platforms.
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices was chosen as one of the charities to be supported this year. Now in its 30th year, the charity day has raised over £155 million for more than 1,700 charities worldwide.
Representing Shooting Star Children’s Hospices was two Vice-President’s Simon Cowell and Tony Hadley MBE, and celebrity supporter Leigh Francis (aka Keith Lemon).
“We were honoured to be one of the supported charities for ICAP Charity Day. The day was brilliant and fun from start to finish, with Simon, Tony and Leigh on the trading floor to encourage some fantastic trading deals to raise vital funds for our charity. They were surrounded by the Traders wearing fancy dress, whilst Tony Hadley performed ‘Gold’ with some of the Traders. It was huge fun.
“A very touching moment was meeting one of the trader’s, whose Godson is cared for at our Guildford hospice, Christopher’s, and he spoke about how much Shooting Star Children’s Hospices meant to the family.
“The hugest thank you to ICAP and congratulations for their 30th year. Enormous thanks to Simon, Tony and Leigh giving their time and their continued tireless support for our work. The money raised from the day will provide a vital lifeline to help us continue our work at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.”
