Shooting Star Children’s Hospices had an egg-cellent start to Easter as they welcomed presenter and author Vogue Williams to Shooting Star House on Saturday 1 April, for an animal inspired drop-in session.

Vogue spent time talking to our supported families and treated them to a special reading of her new children’s book Jump for the Stars. She also signed copies for families to take home and keep.

They also welcomed a flurry (or should that be furry) of animals as a visiting farm brought some friends to meet Vogue and the children. With chickens, ducks, guinea pigs and rabbits, the children had the opportunity to meet and stroke the animals as well as enjoy some fun activities.

Vogue said of her visit, “I had such a lovely time reading to the children and families at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.”

Karen Sugarman MBE, Executive Vice-President at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices said, “It was wonderful to welcome Vogue to Shooting Star House, as well as the lovely visiting farm and their animals. It was a beautiful morning of activities and great to hear everyone enjoy and listen to Vogue read her book Jump for the Stars to the children. Vogue has generously supported us in the past and was very moved and inspired by her visit.”
