The Shooting Star Children’s Hospices events programme in North West London just keeps getting bigger and better. The recent Wicked-themed drop-in event for supported and bereaved families was nothing short of enchanting. Glinda the Good Witch herself left Oz to make a special appearance at the new event venue in Hayes – talk about a star-studded visit!

The day was packed with fun and creativity. Families were immersed in a world of arts and crafts, where they could decorate their very own pink or green water bottles, create sparkling jewellery, and even design their own Wicked-inspired costumes. Who knew you could unleash your inner Glinda or Elphaba in such a crafty way?
But the magic didn’t stop there – hold onto your broomsticks! We also hosted a Wicked-themed scavenger hunt, where families searched high and low to find hidden treasures around the room. Along the way, they made sure to stop at our cake pit stops – either a green cake or a pink cookie (even the snacks were on theme).

Hannah Pickup, Events Assistant commented: “Bubbles were blown, and potions were made, but the absolute highlight of the day was the amazing singing and dancing from Glinda and some very talented children and young people. A pretty wicked morning if you ask me!”
It was a truly magical day and everyone left with a little extra sparkle in their step. Events like these are only possible thanks to generous supporters like you.
