Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care may not be able to hold its traditional Christmas Fayre this year, due to Covid, but that won’t stop it getting in the festive spirit! This year it’s organised a virtual Christmas Market, so you can still shop for loved ones, and maybe buy yourself a little something, all for a good cause!

The virtual market will take place on Saturday 28th November, and because it’s online you’ll be able to shop for Christmas presents from the comfort of your own home. A wide range of fabulous local companies will be selling all sorts of goodies, so you’ll be able to get something for even the most difficult to buy for family member! Simply buy the items as you normally would online, type ‘Phyllis Tuckwell’ in the reference section at the checkout, and 10% of the sale price will be donated to this important charity, at no extra cost to you!

All of the money you raise will go directly towards helping Phyllis Tuckwell provide its vital supportive and end of life care for local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. It offers specialist medical and nursing care, therapies, counselling, social work advice and practical support, and provides all of these services free of charge to its patients and their families, but it has to raise over £20,000 a day to do this. With many of its fundraising events cancelled this year due to Covid, and its shops closed during both lockdowns, this Christmas it needs your support more than ever.

To find out more about the market and see what companies will be taking part, log onto Facebook and join Phyllis Tuckwell’s Virtual Christmas Fayre Facebook group. If you don’t have access to Facebook, don’t worry! Simply send an e-mail to before 27th November, and she will send you a list of the companies taking part. And on the day, visit] to get shopping!

Happy virtual Christmas!
