Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care has recently received a cheque for £3,000 from The Farnham Institute Charity, who have donated the money to pay for three new syringe drivers.

The Farnham Institute Charity gives grants to charitable purposes which will benefit Farnham residents and which are not already covered by rates, taxes or other public funds. They are great supporters of Phyllis Tuckwell, which provides supportive and end of life care for local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer.

“We would like to thank The Farnham Institute for this generous grant, which will enable us to buy three new syringe drivers, and for their ongoing support of Phyllis Tuckwell,” said Caroline Rogers, Manager of the In-Patient Unit at Phyllis Tuckwell.

A syringe driver is a small, portable, battery-operated device that administers medicines at a constant rate. Syringe pumps are often used in the last few weeks and days of life and provide a safe and effective way to manage symptoms.
