After the success of its inaugural beer festival last year, Phyllis Tuckwell will be holding Tankards for Tuckwell once again, at The Empire on Aldershot’s High Street on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th October. The evenings offer a selection of over 60 ales and ciders, all from local breweries, as well as food, live music and a raffle.

“We are very excited to announce the return of Tankards for Tuckwell,” said Laura Moody, Events Fundraising Manager at Phyllis Tuckwell. “We’ll be offering ales and ciders from a huge range of local breweries, including: Ascot, Bond Brews, The Crafty Brewing Company, Hogs Back, Itchen Valley, Little London Brewery, Longdog Brewery, Surrey Hills, Tilford, Triple fff and Mr Whiteheads Cider Company.”

Along with this wide range of tempting beverages will be live music from The Dolomites on Friday evening and The Why Band on Saturday evening. All monies raised by this event will go directly to help fund the supportive and end of life care which Phyllis Tuckwell provides for patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. Every day it supports over 250 patients, relatives and carers – in their own homes, in the community, at the Hospice in Farnham and at the Beacon Centre in Guildford, but as the NHS/Government only covers 20% of its costs, it has to raise over £20,000 a day to do this, which is why fundraising events such as Tankards for Tuckwell are so important.

So whether you like a pale ale or a traditional bitter, a crystal rye or a porter, come and taste the hops – and support local Hospice Care!

Tankards for Tuckwell will be held from 7pm-11pm on Friday 5th October, and from 12pm-4pm and 7pm-11pm on Saturday 6th October. Tickets cost £10 each, and include a glass and a programme. You can buy yours now from the Phyllis Tuckwell shop in Aldershot, or by calling 01252 729446 or visiting
