A host of stars joined 300 guests on Friday 11 November, to show their support for The Shooting Star Ball, in aid of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.

Now in its 18th year, the annual event, took place at The Royal Lancaster Hotel, and was hosted by Julian Clary. Guests were entertained by Britain’s Got Talent finalist Tom Ball, singer and songwriter Raquel Reno, and headlining the evening, hugely successful vocal harmony group The Overtones. There was also a surprise performance from the FABBAGIRLS.

The entertainment was enjoyed by Vice-President’s of the charity Dame Joan Collins DBE, Simon Cowell and Tony Hadley MBE, together with Patrons Lauren Silverman, and Jackie and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. Other celebrity guests included Leigh Francis, Georgia Toffolo, Charlie Mullins OBE and Julie Forsyth.

Guests enjoyed a three-course ‘winter warmer’ dinner, before taking part in a money-can’t-buy auction hosted by auctioneer Charles Hanson. Auction prizes included a lunch in St. Tropez with Dame Joan Collins and the ultimate F1 experience to the Monza F1 2023.

The Shooting Star Ball has raised more than £3.3 million for the children’s hospice charity since its launch in 2004.

Simon Cowell, Vice-President of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices

“The Shooting Star Ball is always a very special evening where we are able to come together to raise funds for the families who need our support. We are so thrilled and overwhelmed with the generosity of every single guest. Without whom, we simply would not be able to provide the vital care to children and families facing unimaginable circumstances.”

Karen Sugarman MBE, Executive Vice-President of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices

“It’s been a phenomenal evening and I’d like to extend my thanks to everyone involved in making such an extraordinary event possible. It’s great to be able to come together at The Shooting Star Ball to celebrate the amazing work we do and highlight how vitally important their continued support is, in order for us to be there for children with life-limiting conditions, and their families now, and long into the future.”
